A supply chain briefing from

We would like to close the year with some timely information from Technology Forecasters Inc (TFI) on the latest RoHS and WEEE research. As many companies contend with compliance issues, you might find an executive summary from Pamela Gordon, TFI President interesting to see how your progress compares with others as well as sound guidance on environmental initiatives. We also invited Bruce Rayner, from our partner TFI to weigh in on the subject of auditing outsourced relationships. Finally, eKNOWtion’s Kathleen Geraghty and Hitesh Attri conclude with our view on audits in general. We offer a somewhat unconventional voice along with a framework you can consider using to update your current approach to this critical task.

This year has been successful on many levels as we expanded our service offering and introduced the KNOWledge Academy to many existing and new clients. We are delighted to see our network of partners and supply chain professionals growing and already look forward to a very exciting 2007 together but until then we wish you a very warm holiday season.

Best Regards,
Kathleen & Douglas

Start the New Year with a clear understanding of your organization’s supply chain maturity. eKNOWtion’s on line self assessment is available as a complimentary tool to measure your current position and begin to prioritize the most beneficial initiatives for your supply chain in the year ahead.

eKNOWtion will be carrying out a very interesting research initiative for TFI in the next quarter that focuses on Lean adoption across high tech supply chains. There is growing evidence that Lean is reaching beyond manufacturing but who is leading the way (OEM, ODM, CM, component manufacturer or distributors) and what benefits are they realizing they might motivate you and your partners into new initiatives? If you are interested in participating in this study please contact us via research@eKNOWtion.com.

Obsolete Audits Find More Than a Suitable Replacement

by Kathleen Geraghty & Hitesh Attri
It is a well accepted view that we compete as supply chains. Our time to market, quality, cost and even some compliance requirements are constrained or enabled by our supply chain partners. On that basis, we should know their strengths and weaknesses as well as we know our own. But have we created a climate that promotes that transparency? Before we look upstream in the supply chain, let’s look in the mirror. Read more...
